About Us

Welcome to St John Lutheran Church

For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
Romans 12:4-5

Church History

St John Church finds its early beginnings in the year 1889 in the farming community of Uhland with families of German descent. At that time a small group of families met in each others’s homes for worship and to receive the sacraments.

Our Future and Present

While drawing from our past, looking to our forefathers and their example of service, faith, and leadership, we reach into the future to continue their legacy - a legacy of faith. We are exited about the continued growth of the community around us, and the opportunities for faithful outreach into that community as well as the growth within our church. We remain steadfast in our faith in God and our desire to bring His great news to the community.

He said to them “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” Mark 16:15

The Women of The Church

From our founding in 1893, the ladies at St. John have been instrumental in our church both within our walls and in the community.

Today our active, mission-based Women’s Guild remains the cornerstone of St. John and is a constant spiritual beacon for our church and community.

St. John Christian Fellowship Center

In 2023 St. John Lutheran Church dedicated our new Fellowship Center to service of Christ's Ministry in our community.

Throughout the year we hold many community events such as our Fall Festival, Easter Egg Hunt, Annual Tea Party, and more.  For upcoming events, please see our calendar.
The Fellowship Center is available to rent.  For more information, please contact us.

The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod

At St. John Lutheran Church, we are a part of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. We believe that the Bible is the inerrant, infallible, authoritative Word of God and that the Book of Concord faithfully explains it.
