Welcome to St John Lutheran Church

We're Glad You're Here!

At St. John we are exited about the growth and movement surrounding our church. Whether you are new to the area, or have been here for a while, we look forward to meeting and welcoming you to the St. John family.
Worship With Us

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.

  Ephesians 2:19-20

Teaching Jesus Christ, on the cross, in our place

Life is tough. Dreams come crashing down. We're not the people we want to be. And worst of all, we’ve offended God.
At St. John, we acknowledge our shortcomings and turn to Jesus because He is “for us”. He’s not going to magically fix all our problems, but He has fixed our biggest problems (sin and eternal death) and gives us purpose and meaning in life

Gathering to worship in spirit and truth

For over 130 years, we have gathered together to hear the timeless truth of the Bible, receive the forgiveness of sins, and encourage one another as disciples of Jesus Christ. We are not perfect, but we love and care for each other like family.

Growing in love for our neighbors

Becoming like Jesus means loving and serving our neighbors. This includes everyone, even people on the margins of society. God doesn’t need our good deeds, but our families do, as do our co-workers, the cashier at the grocery store, the homeless, and everyone we come in contact with. By loving and serving our neighbors, God uses us to help provide what they need each day.

130+ years and counting

The story of St. John speaks to the faithfulness of God. It all started in 1889 when local families began meeting in each other’s homes to worship. Three years later they organized as a congregation and called their first pastor. In 1949, St. John dedicated a new church building in the village of Uhland. In 2011 St. John became a part of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). In 2023, the St. John Christian Fellowship Center opened to better serve our church and community. Today, by God’s grace, we carry on a long legacy of faith and service.
As we look to the future, our world can look pretty bleak at times, but we move forward with confidence because we know that our sins are forgiven and God has promised to “never leave us or forsake us.”
